Digital Dirt CLEs

Information and Registration for the Digital Dirt CLEs


The Digital Dirt CLE is a six-hour continuing legal education seminar on trends and legal developments relating to computer forensics. The intended audience is attorneys, law enforcement, and computer forensic examiners, but it is also open to members of the general public. Seating is limited, and pre-registration is necessary to guarantee a place at the seminar; walk-ins are welcome if space is available on a first-come, first-seated basis.

This course has been certified for 6 hours CLE credit by the California State Bar Association. Certification by the Vermont MCLE Program for 6 hours CLE credit is pending.


Seminar Schedule and Outline


  • 8:00 - 9:00 a.m. Registration
  • 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. Introduction to Computer Concepts and Forensic Terminology
  • 10:05 - 11:05 a.m. Trends in Data Creation, Transmission, and Storage
  • 11:15 - 12:15 p.m. Developments in Forensic Hardware and Software
  • 12:15 - 1:15 p.m. Buffet Lunch (included in the registration fee)
  • 1:15 - 2:20 p.m. Forensic Search and Seizure: Overview of Procedure and Law
  • 2:20 - 3:20 p.m. Recent Federal and State Computer Forensic Cases (Jurisdiction-Specific)
  • 3:30 - 4:30 p.m. The Ethics of Electronic Data
