SANS Institute Launches New Computer Forensics Resource Website
Posted by: Frederick Lane on 07 November 2008
The SANS (SysAdmin, Audit, Network, Security) Institute has announced the launch of a new community-based website for computer forensic specialists, called the Computer Forensic and e-Discovery website.
The goal of the site, according to SANS, is to "offer digital forensics professionals an opportunity to learn, dicusss, and share current developments in the field." The site also contains information about SANS forensic courses, training, and events.
The new site already contains an impressive array of resources for computer forensic specialists, including the SANS Forensic Blog, assorted whitepapers on forensics topics, webcasts of computer forensic techniques, weblinks, and downloadable forensics materials (free registration required).
There is also extensive information about the SANS computer forensics course and various types of forensic certification.
Although the primary focus of the site is to advertise and promote SANS courses and training, it nonetheless is developing into a valuable resource for computer forensic specialists. I've added it to the CFD weblinks, and will periodically check in to see what's been added.
